Robert Bosch budgets 52m-euro revenues

Business of the local branch of the industrial German group witnessed one of the most significant leaps in 2005. "The growth in turnover is in line with the company''s development in Romania along with the expansion of its product portfolio and of its distributor network," Cristina Antonescu, financial manager of Robert Bosch Romania, the local branch of the German group, told ZF. The company last year saw a 22% increase in its sales compared with 2004, to up to 48 million euros. The company is present in Romania with a three-department sales structure: electric tools, accounting for about 54% of turnover, automotive parts and accessories, and Junkers heating boilers, each accounting for 23% of the sales. Bosch set up an office for its Bosch Security Systems division in June last year. For 2006, company officials expect a 40% growth of sales to 2.5 million euros for the security division. "The market of security technology has seen an average growth of 30% over the last few years," says Adrian Balsanu, front office manager at Bosch Security Systems. The Bosch group last year started its first investment in a production facility in Blaj, through Bosch''s Rexroth division. According to company officials, some 11 million euros will be invested in a greenfield project involving the construction of a production facility. This project will create 300 new jobs in the area.
