This is what the market of sportsbets where Romanians spend almost 150m euros annually, similar withthe budget earmarked for chocolate tablet purchases, looks like.The market has continued to grow aggressively this year, amid thearrival of billionaire Dinu Patriciu, who opened the first 41coffee shops-agencies, 1x2 Bet Café Arena, and the opening of tensof new locations by the main players on the market looking toimprove coverage. Romanians spend around 100-150m euros on sportsbets, a market where there's an agency per 7,500 inhabitants,compared with Croatia, which has 2,000 agencies against a fourfoldsmaller population, cashing in around 500m euros from bets. Around1,500 private betting agencies operated by 14 companies holdinglicences for this type of activity are active on the market.
