RTC Proffice stationery and office supplies distributor, thebiggest company part of RTC group controlled by businessmanOctavian Radu, last year reached 32.5m-euro turnover, almost halfthe 2008 level, after undergoing a revamping process that saw 280employees made redundant. "Last year, the office and paper suppliesmarket plummeted amid the 58% lower demand from large companies and28% from small companies," stated Relu Cirjan, CEO of thestationery and office supplies unit of RTC group. RTC ProfficeExperience is the biggest of the three companies part of thestationery and office supplies unit of the group. Despite fallingdemand for stationery and office supplies last year, the companyinvested 5.1m euros in a 10,000 square metre warehouse. In 2009,the company also changed its sales strategy. The company's turnoverreached 8m euros in the first quarter of this year, almost flatfrom last year. "I believe, though, we'll end the year with 17%higher turnover, to 37.3m euros as we gain new clients," Cirjanstated.
