Sanex Cluj sells sanitary ware unit

03.09.2004, 00:00 16

The Sanex Cluj company, which was acquired by the Austrian constructions materials group Lasselsberger this spring, no longer produces sanitary ware. The equipment involved in this activity has been taken over by the German Villeroy & Boch group, the owner of the producer Mondial Lugoj. In fact, the transaction concluded at the end of June between the Lasselsberger and Villeroy & Boch has had a strong impact upon the structure of the Romanian market: the Sanex owner also took over the ceramic tiles unit of Mondial Lugoj, while Villeroy & Boch took over the sanitary ware production unit of Sanex Cluj. At the end of H1 Sanex Cluj logged net profit worth 47.9 billion ROL (1.18 million euros), about 33% lower in ROL as compared to the corresponding period last year, according to the report filed by Sanex Cluj's Board. The company's turnover shrank from 558 billion ROL (15.2 million euros) to 538 billion ROL (13.2 million euros). ZF
