The Ferrari Formula 1 team sees the number of fans increasing as its stars, Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barichello, win more and more races. The one thing spectators do not know, however, is that the two pilots, the technical team and the supporters are wearing shirts made in Romania by Braiconf.
The Braila-based shirts maker has been working with FILA Sport Spa, through an Italian partner since last year. FILA is the main supplier of sports gear for the Ferrari team and its supporters, Anica Nisioi, Braiconf general manager says.
"This is the third season when we supply the Schumi model of long and short sleeved shirts to the entire Ferrari team from pilots to fans," Nisioi said.
Braiconf last year supplied more than 22,000 shirts as part of this contract and has recently filled the order for the spring/summer tour season. "Part of the shirts go straight to Italy, and we also had several shipments to the US last week. We have delivered about 10,000 -15,000 shirts so far and if taking the success of the team last year into account, we hope we could reach and even exceed 2002's sales volume," Braiconf's general manager added.
The raw material used for making these shirts, that is the red fabric, which practically defines Ferrari, comes from Italy and so do the badges applied on the finished products. They are assembled at Braiconf according to models configured along with an Italian technician "so that the shirts would become."
"These orders mean very much for Braiconf. Their value cannot be always quantified, yet the presence of such a name has a tremendous impact on the company's image and instils confidence in the current and future clients," Anica Nisioi pointed out.
This theory has been proven to work and keep working over the last few years. Nisioi says a major foreign company has decided to work with Braiconf as soon as it noticed the list of partners includes names like Kenzo, Givenchy, Versace Sport, Sisley etc.
