Slow growth for Asirom in 2004

07.02.2005, 00:00 9

Asirom insurance company estimates the gross premiums underwritten in 2004 to have reached 133 million euros, up 1-2% from the previous year, but below the estimated overall market growth of about 15%. The company officials also announced that they had concluded 10% more auto liability policies in 2004 than in the previous year. "We estimate gross premiums underwritten of 5,300-5,400bn ROL (130-133 million euros) for 2004, 900bn ROL (22 million euros) of which derived from life insurance," Ion Bratulescu, the company's chief executive said on Thursday. He did not explain why that was, saying the data were not final yet and they were to be analysed. Furthermore, last year's performance of the insurance market is uncertain yet, so that it is too early to comment, Bratulescu explains. Asirom went through three chief executive changes last year, yet the current head of the company refrained from including those changes among the causes of stagnation. ZF
