TBI Credit, the consumer credit division of the TBI Financial Services group, expects to grant 3,000 loans, worth 1.5-2 million euros this year, via an online application service- eCreditor. The application was launched a year ago, and the company has granted 1,000 loans so far with an overall value of 600,000 euros, 60% of which are loans for personal needs and 40% are consumer loans. Traian Baicu, general manager of TBI Credit, says the Internet provides high growth potential for retail lending. "It is a completely new market, and the shift of services to the Internet and the Romanians' appetite for lending has led to one conclusion: the online lending market will grow exponentially over the next few years," says Baicu.
