The Bucharest office of American company TechTeam Global is to provide call centre services to an international travel agency as part of an approximately 12 million dollar (9.5 million euro) three-year contract, TechTeam''s vice-president of marketing and sales for Europe, Cristoph Neut, told Ziarul Financiar.

The TechTeam official did not reveal the name of the travel agency, saying only that it was an American company.

"This company and Canon are our two major clients in Romania for the time being, though we have a number of important contracts in the works. We are extremely pleased with our operations in Romania."

TechTeam opened its Romanian office in April of last year and has 150 employees. It will move to new headquarters in the IRIDE Business Park in Pipera this year where it has invested more than 2 million dollars (1.6 million euros), said Neut.

He added that the new headquarters would be able to host a 400-people call centre that will be able to service several contracts simultaneously.

The Romanian office will provide 80% of the services supplied under the contract with the American travel agency, with the remaining quota to be covered by the company''s Brussels branch. TechTeam plans to assign 80 people to the job, who will offer 24-hour support.

The American company''s Romanian subsidiary, TechTeam Global SRL, is the company''s fifth European office after Belgium, UK, Germany and Sweden. Outside the US and Europe, the company is also present in India.

TechTeam Global has over 2,000 employees worldwide, 700 of which work in Europe. Its clients include Ford, Dell, Canon, UPS, Bristol-Myers Squibb Company and Intercontinental Hotels Group.
