03.04.2006, 00:00 7

Tudor Dragomir Niculescu (26), owner of the Turabo Cafe chain, will expand his business by another 10 coffee shops and a new concept of event halls, Turabo Grand Ballroom, this year. The owner of Turabo Cafe will invest 500,000 euros in the two event halls. "Three years from the opening of the first Turabo coffee shop, we are entering a new concept: a conference and events complex," says Niculescu. Turabo Cafe''s turnover last year stood at 1.2 million euros and reached as much as 500,000 euros during the first two months of this year. "For 2006, we estimate a total turnover standing somewhere in between 3 and 5 million euros, depending on how the new business with event halls will expand," says Niculescu, who invested all the profits made by Turabo Cafe in development. Turabo Grand Ballroom will be located in the Pipera area. The building hosting it has a 1,300 square-metre surface area and is located on a 3,000-square metre piece of land. The almost 2,000 square metre-surface adjoining plot of land will be used to build a 1,000-square metre parking lot, and the rest of the land for two Japanese gardens, to be used each as a terrace for the two event halls.
