The Turkish-based Yasar Group has bought 47% in paint and enamel manufacturer DYO from the Gurdal family, and announced Romania will become the operational hub of the group in Eastern Europe. DYO owns a paint and enamel factory in Oltenita, which opened in 2003 and is part of the Yasar group. The Turkish group bought back 47% in DYO, held by the main distributor of the factory's products, boosting its interest to 100% as a result, a DYO Romania release reveals. Representatives of the companies involved did not disclose the value of the deal. After this transaction, Yasar plans to invest in the production and development of the DYO product distribution network both in the Romanian and Eastern European markets. DYO plans to attain 20 million-euro turnover in 2009. The Yasar Group is active in the chemical industry, the paint business, the agri-food sector, engineering, tourism, foreign trade and education, and is present on the Middle Eastern, Russian and the Persian Gulf markets. Yasar Holding posts more than one billion euros in turnover every year. The main producers of paint on the domestic market include Kober, Dufa Deutek Romania and Policolor.
