Unable to repay loans, 500,000 Romanians submit CVs for jobs abroad

More than 520,000 Romanians have submitted their CVs for jobsabroad since the beginning of the year and most of those who wantto leave are already hired, apply for 10 to 20 jobs until they getan interview and want to work for foreigners because they are nolonger able to repay their loans, reveal statistics centralised byTjobs website, a working platform used by recruitment agencies inRomania.


Although half a million Romanians have applied for a job abroad,only 86,000 have actually signed employment contracts from Januarythrough September 2010.
"More than 450,000 of the Romanians that submitted their CVs had aninterview, either by going to the recruitment agency office, orover the phone or via Skype. We anticipate an increase by up to15-20% in the number of jobs abroad next year," says CălinŞtefănescu, general manager of Tjobs.
About 230,000-240,000 contracts for employment abroad are to besigned by the end of the year, some of them for farming or cruiseship jobs, with people set to start leaving for work in February2011.
