Sweden-based Assa Abloy Group, the world leading security systems maker, last year had 6 million-euro turnover in Romania, of which exports accounted for 14%. Sales were nearly the same as the previous year, given the recession in the construction sector and the drop in the population's purchasing power.
This year, Assa Abloy is planning 10.5 million-euro turnover in Romania, while the 2002 turnover is estimated to reach 14 million euros, according to company officials.
Assa Abloy Group in Romania is operating through Urbis Security (specialised in production for the domestic market only), Urbis International (maker of products for export) and Assa Abloy Romania (the sales company of the Swedish group).
