The government is expected to allocate 15 million RON (4.8 million euros), in its meeting on Wednesday, for infrastructure and utility works for Industrial Park Tetarom III in Jucu, Cluj county, where Finnish mobile telephone company Nokia is involved with investments. The Minister of Economy and Finance, Varujan Vosganian, made an announcement in Cluj stating that the 15 million euros are in addition to the 12 million RON already allocated by the Government and could be followed in autumn by supplementary governmental funds. Vosganian, who visited the industrial park in Jucu last Saturday, told ZF that the major advantage of an investment such as the one made by Nokia in Cluj is that it attracts a lot of companies, which, through investments, can ensure the economic development of the area. "Romania can narrow the technological gap separating it from the rest of the European Union by setting up industrial parks, such as the one in Titu (near Bucharest) as well as the Nokia Park, which attract high technology," stated Vosganian.
