The price for a week's stay at a five-star hotel in one of theleading resorts on the Romanian, Bulgarian, Greek, and Cypriotseaside starts from 600 euros and can exceed 2,000 euros, accordingto a ZF analysis.

Five-star hotels in Mamaia resort on the Romanian seaside arealmost twice as expensive as the hotels in the best-known Bulgarianresort, Golden Sands, and charge similar prices to five-star hotelsin Santorini (Greece) and Paphos (Cyprus).

"It is normal for five-star hotels on the Romanian seaside tocharge higher tariffs compared with similar hotels in other resortsabroad, due to the fact that our offer is rather limited, with onlya few hundred rooms in five-star hotels, and with there beingenough demand," said Mircea Vladu, owner of travel agency PrestigeTours.

In Mamaia, a seven-day stay at a five-star hotel costs between1,400 and almost 2,000 euros, nearly double as much as a similarstay in luxury hotels on the Bulgarian seacoast.

On the other hand, a holiday at luxury hotels in Greek resortRhodes, one of Romanians' favourite destinations, costs a fewhundred euros more than a holiday in Bulgaria, between 1,300 and1,400 euros per stay (accommodation only).
