14.01.2009, 18:05 10

German bearings manufacturer Ina Schaeffler intends to increase the value of its production by 50% this year, to around 390 million euros, based on rising orders in the wind power sector, while all manufacturers in the industry are lowering their forecasts. According to Ina Schaeffler representatives, the production increase will be achieved due to new production lines becoming functional, after around 90 million euros were invested in them in 2008. "We will see a 50% increase (this year i.e.) against 2008, because we will introduce new products and new production lines this year. Orders are on the rise in the wind power sector and in the heavy industry, we expect to see a cutback in orders only for the automotive industry," said Alexandru Blemovici, general manager of Ina Schaeffler. The company operates a large bearings plant in Brasov, which are used in the wind power industry, a sector that attracts billions of euros in investments at European level, and in the automotive industry.
