Young people find secret of business in rural areas: beekeeping or flower plantations

More than 2,700 farmers under 40 have already received as muchas 25,000 euros from the EU for the creation of new agriculturalbusinesses. Of them, almost one quarter have chosen to invest inapiculture.
The move through which young farmers get a maximum of 25,000 euros,depending of the submitted projects, was launched in 2008 to makeyoung people return to villages, but a ZF survey reveals that onlythree out of ten have started a business from scratch inagriculture, while the rest, entrepreneurs already havingagricultural businesses in rural areas, have preferred to expandtheir business or modernise it.
Almost 600 projects have been submitted for agriculture, with therest of funds raised for horticulture, livestock raising,agricultural land or equipment acquisitions, as well as for rose orexotic plant cultures.
Starting September, APDRP (Payment Agency for Rural Development andFishing) launches the fourth session of project submission, withthe total earmarked sum starting at 61.4m euros.
