IKEA is to build a production line in Gura Humorului, with the total investment standing at some 35 million euros, Marius Ursaciuc, the town''s mayor, quoted by a MEDIAFAX correspondent, announced on Tuesday. Ursaciuc stated that the investment had been approved by the management of the Swedish company and that work on the biggest direct investment in the mountainous region of Suceava county will begin in the first half of September this year. The mayor specified that talks with IKEA representatives started last November and were completed this week. He was reluctant to say what the production line in Gura Humorului would be producing. IKEA is the leading furniture manufacturer in Europe and it owns another plant in Suceava county, through its Sweedwood branch in the town of Siret. The plant in Gura Humorului is to start operating by September 1, 2007. ZF
