Italy's Enel plants farm of 200 turbines in five years

Energy group Enel, which, through the privatisations that itwon, became the biggest private distributor of electricity inRomania, says it plans to invest 500 million euros from 2011through 2015 to install a capacity of 400 MW in wind farms.

So, in five years Enel will be the owner of a 200-turbine farm,which will be able to supply around 365,000 homes with greenenergy.
"We are growing very fast on this segment. We already have 64 MWinstalled and we plan to install 400 MW from 2011 through 2015.This entails around 500 million euros in investments," saidFrancesco Starace, CEO of the renewable energy division of theItalian group.

So far, Enel has announced that two wind farms in the Tulcea countyarea have become operational, having a cumulated capacity of 64 MW.For the two farms, the company used 2 MW turbines, which means atthe end of 2015, if the same technology is used, the Italians could"plant" around 200 turbines in the Dobrogea. Considering the annualyields of investments in wind energy, which amount to around25-30%, in 2015 the capacity that the Italians have announced couldbe used to distribute energy to around 365,000 households, with amonthly average consumption of 200 kWh.
