The constructions and the agriculture sectors are two of theessential factors in the revival of the Romanian economy in 2011,believes Emil Pop, general manager of Rehau Polymer, localsubsidiary of German group Rehau, with 48.5 million-euro turnoverlast year in Romania.

"The economy will not be revived as long as the constructionssector and agriculture do not progress, while the local industrywill continue to be dependent on the European one. Recovery couldbe brought about by the diligence and responsibility shown byeveryone, in their particular area of work, from politics toexport-oriented industry. Romanians as a people should change theirattitude," Emil Pop told ZF.

However, the Rehau manager is pessimistic about the progressionof the local constructions market in 2011, estimating a stagnationor even a 5-10% decline. Pop joins other managers in theconstructions sector, who said in the last part of 2010 that therewere slim chances that the sector most affected by the crisis wouldbe revived in 2011, after 2010 saw an overall decline of 20-25%,from around 12.6 billion euros in the preceding year.

Rehau posted a 48.5 million-euro turnover in 2010, up 11% on theprevious year.
