Tariffs for low-cost airlines' call centres, three times higher than regular call tariffs

Passengers of Wizz Air and Blue Air low-cost airlines who wantto ask for information or book plane tickets through the callcentre must pay 2.68 RON (0.62 euros) per minute for a phone callfrom the country, three times more than when calling in anothermobile telephony network, according to the data published onlow-cost airlines' websites and with ZF calculations.
Moreover, for Romanians calling from Spain, for instance, the phonetariffs paid to low-cost airlines' call centre go as high as 1.54euros per minute, according to Wizz Air website.
Who do airlines set the tax of phone calls received at call centresproviding information to passengers?
"The call centre prices are set in accordance with the company'sbusiness principles. The tariff of calls to call centres can varywith each market, depending on the tariffs of mobile telephonyoperators and their infrastructures," stated Balazs Varro,corporate communications manager with Hungary's Wizz Air low-costairline.
