4 of 5 Romanian web surfers go on holiday

26.06.2003, 00:00 9

Nearly 80% of the adult Romanians living in cities are planning to go on holiday this summer, compared to only 66% last year, with 20% of them choosing to spend their summer break abroad, a survey by ConsoDATA, a company specialised in conducting market surveys over the Internet, shows. Still, the main destinations of those planning to go on holiday this year are the seaside (approximately 50% of the total) and the mountains (28%). The Danube Delta was chosen by only 4% of those to have made holiday arrangements. One thing should be noted, though: the percentage of those choosing the seaside or the mountains went down compared with last year, as more people scheduled holidays abroad. Most (52%) of those who went on holiday in 2002 preferred to go to the seaside, while 31% preferred to go to the mountains and 14.2% chose to spend their holiday abroad. Most tourists opt for staying in hotels, especially if they travel abroad (two thirds are considering this type of accommodation), the ConsoDATA survey shows. ZF
