Albalact: current production capacities no longer enough

06.11.2006, 17:41 7

Albalact increased by 25% the production capacity of the dairy plant in Alba-Iulia in order to sustain sales of the Zuzu brand, launched in March this year. The Alba-Iulia-based company, one of the leading players in the dairy industry, witnessed a 54% increase in its turnover in the first nine months of this year, against the similar time in 2005, to 19.2 million euros, almost 3 million euros more against the turnover reported in 2005. Albalact's growth pace is almost four times as big as that of the dairy market in the January-September 2006 period, and its current production capacities are unable to meet the whole demand. "Demand exceeded our production capacities. We managed to increase our production capacities by at least 25%, but it's not enough yet," said Raul Ciurtin, chairman of Alba-Iulia-based Albalact. Albalact posted a net profit worth over 780,000 euros (2,759,956 RON) in January-September 2006, 27% more than in the same period of 2005.
