The Auchan hypermarket network has announced two openings this year, in the Militari district of Bucharest, and in the city of Suceava, which entail the recruitment of around 700 people. The retailer has been present in Romania since 2006, and has so far conducted investments worth over 300 million euros in five stores, one of which in the Titan district of Bucharest. Last year, MGV Distri Hiper SA, operator of the Auchan stores in Romania, posted revenues worth 137 million euros, compared with 19 million euros in the previous year, after the French network opened its first hypermarket on the local market in the autumn of 2006.
