Automobile Bavaria estimates 15% increase in BMW sales

27.03.2007, 19:23 14

Automobile Bavaria estimates to sell over 2,000 BMV and Mini cars this year, up 15% against the total seen for the two brands last year, stated the company's financial manager, Bernd Kunzel. The general importer of premium brands BMW, Mini and MAN, as well as Rolls Royce luxury cars, sold 1,6656 BMW cars and 97 Mini cars last year. The demand for MAN lorries is estimated to exceed 1,500 units, twice as many as the 767 units sold last year. According to Kunzel, the increase in the demand for cars is the result of the rise in revenues of the population that owns lower class cars, who now wishes to upgrade to a premium class vehicle. Another explanation for the estimated increase would be the general overall expansion of the vehicle market.
