Paints producer Azur, a subsidiary of ICC Industrie INC New York, intends to boost its production of water-soluble paints by around 50%, with investments in this development project standing at approximately 450,000 euros. Sales of water-soluble paints currently account for about 20% of Azur's total turnover. "Following the growth of the market, last year we doubled production capacities for water-soluble paints, and our intention is to have a range of paints of this type, in order to obtain a strategic position on the market," Eugen Niculescu, marketing manager of Timisoara-based Azur, told ZF Transilvania. Last year, the company invested around 170,000 euros in expanding production capacities for water-soluble paints. Company management estimates an approximately 13.8 million-euro turnover for this year, a 21% rise against 2006.
