28.11.2005, 18:43 9

Wine producer Bachus Buzau in the first nine months of the year derived turnover standing at 7.67 million RON (2.12 million euros), 3.32% higher from the same period of last year, when sales were worth 7.42 million RON (1.82 million euros). The wine producer has considerably cut losses, to 500,000 RON after the first three quarters, over 77% lower from the corresponding period of last year. The company owns five wineries, two distilleries and its own store in Buzau. Bachus produces high-quality white and red wines, under Pietroasa, Rezerve and Gold Edition brands, and table wines. In recent years, Bachus has invested in a PET production line. Amid high prices, some wine producers prefer selling PET-packaged wines, which entail lower manufacturing costs and higher sales. Bachus share capital is worth 16.44 million RON (4.5 million euros), with the face value per share standing at 2.5 RON. The company is controlled by Casa de Vinuri Pietroasa, holding more than 58.5% in stock. ZF
