Businessmen Dan Besciu and Sorin Vulpescu, owners of restaurantsGolden Blitz in Bucharest, whose clients include President TraianBasescu, brought the Golden Blitz brands onto the Romanian taximarket. Taxis are operated via construction company EuroconstructTrading '98 and were withdrawn from Fly Taxi company.
"We withdrew our 33 cars we had at Fly Taxi and only changed ourname, having our own central dispatch office. We will not invest inboosting the number of cars," Dan Besciu, one of the owners ofGolden Blitz, told ZF.
Fly Taxi, the company controlled by businessman Fernando Enciu, isunder financial strain after several companies filed an insolvencypetition with a court of law against the company. Although Fly Taxiis on the list of companies with access to the Otopeni Airportafter holding monopoly over it for five years, Golden Blitz doesnot have access to the airport because they withdrew the carsbefore the tender was held at Otopeni," says Vasile Stefanescu,chairman of Bucharest's Taxi Drivers' Association.
Euroconstruct Trading '98 could collect around 1.2 million RON(around 300,000 euros) in annual revenues from Golden Blitz Taxi,considering the number of cars and the planned daily revenues of100 RON/car.
