BMW: Delivery period to be reduced by up to six weeks

12.10.2007, 20:06 10

"For BMW's range of models assembled in Europe, the delivery period will be cut by six weeks, to somewhere between six and eight weeks, while for the X5 SUV, which is manufactured in BMW's plant in the United States, the time interval will be approximately seven to ten weeks. If the model is in stock in Austria, for example (the X3 SUV is assembled in Austria), the delivery period is of around one week," said Franz Jung, president of the BMW Group for Central and Eastern Europe. In the first nine months of this year, the premium cars market saw an up to 50% increase, with sales reported by the three top players (Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz). During the same period, BMW sold 1,573 cars on the Romanian market, placing Romania second in the regional ranking, behind the Czech Republic, a market on which the German manufacturer sold 1,703 units during the same period. In September, BMW sales on the Romanian market reached a volume of 267 units, 53 units above the level registered on the Czech market. Compared with the Bulgarian market, BMW sold five times as many units in Romania, in the same month.
