C&A apparel retailer, one of Europe's biggest players, whichcurrently owns 8 stores domestically, has included Romania andCroatia on the list of priorities in terms of store openings andannounces it is poised to double domestic sales space in twoyears.
For the time being, though, the retailer's Romanian business isamong the smallest in the region, considering the company in 2009reported 7.9m-euro turnover, namely an average 2.6m euros perstore, with no store having operated for more than eightmonths.
"We want to reach 5-7% market share in Romania in the next fiveyears," Lauck also said, without specifying, though, any salestargets or the number of stores to be opened.
With such a market share, C&A's sales are likely to hit 150meuros in five years, according to ZF's calculations taking intoaccount the value of the fashion market announced by Euromonitor:2.9bn euros in 2015.
