Paint and primer manufacturer DAW Benta Romania expects to see its turnover grow by more than 50% this year to reach 8.5 million euros, according to Remus Benta Jr., the company''s general manager. If achieved, this growth pace would represent a doubling of turnover compared with 2003. The company has been on the market for only four years. "We will double our local production capacity in 2005, thanks to the investments made in Targu Mures. The volume of dispersive paint output at our facility in Targu Mures was 3,500 tonnes last year," the general manager said. The Romanian paints and enamels market, which has annual sales in excess of 140 million euros according to some estimates, did not grow strongly last year, some of the bigger players say. The leading companies on the market are Kober Piatra Neamt, Policolor and Dufa Romania. DAW Benta Romania has been present on this market since 2001, when the partnership between Germany''s DAW, part of the Caparol Group, and Targu Mures-based Benta Group was formed. ZF
