Logistics and distribution company Cefin Romania plans to invest 65 million euros in a logistics and warehouse centre called "Cefin Logistics Park", located in the western area of Bucharest.
The centre, which will supply integrated transportation and storage services, will comprise warehouses of 130,000 square metres.
The warehouse market has high potential, particularly the integrated solutions, including logistics or large warehouses. Cefin, known as an importer of Iveco trucks, deems the expansion toward this sector as logical.
"So far, we have only dealt with commercial vehicles and related areas (sales, maintenance, spare parts). From now on, we will also deal with the infrastructure needed for the development of transportation/logistics activities. We aim to build a structure that would free our customers from their transportation problems, allowing them to focus on the core business instead," said Stefano Albarosa, executive president of Cefin Group, the mother company of Cefin Romania.
The centre will have storage units of over 2,500 square metres, as well as class A office spaces, sales centres for commercial vehicles and connected services, including a customs point, a petrol station, a parking lot, a maintenance and repairing centre.
Financing will be secured through leasing company Afin Group, whose shareholder structure includes Cefin Holding (60%) and Iveco (40%).
The project will have several stages. The first one, which has already been finalised, is the European Iveco Trucks Centre, spreading on 50,000 square metres, of which 7,500 square metres of built surface.
The second stage is currently unfolding - 15,000 square metres of warehouses, already contracted by Dutch-owned Centrum, an international logistics and distribution company.
In the third stage, another 15,000 square metres of flexible warehouses will be built by the end of the first quarter of 2005.
