06.08.2003, 00:00 13

Conti Temic Microelectronic GmbH, a company in the German Continental AG Group intends to invest in a factory to make electronic components for brakes, i.e. ABS-es (Anti-lock Braking System) in Sibiu, as part of its plans to develop operations on low-cost markets. "The factory will be located on a 22.73 ha plot of land in the Zona Indsutriala Vest (Industrial Zone West), a location also chosen by SNR Roulements, a division of the French Renault Group, to build a productive facility," Marius Constantin, Sibiu City Hall spokesman said. The Sibiu Local Council at the end of July endorsed the detailed urban development plan for the Continental Temic factory. According to Constantin, the German company wants to buy the plot of land in question, and the local authorities will make sure the property has access to utilities. "The new productive facility will create 250 jobs at first, with the number of jobs possible to reach 500, the more the activity develops," Marius Constantin said. ZF
