EVW Holding, the importer and distributor of DAF lorries in Romania, estimates an increase in the volume of sales to 1,500 units for this year, 35% more than the 1,101 units seen last year. At the beginning of the year, the company announced it was targeting a turnover of 130 million euros. "Considering that for the first six months of the year our sales exceeded 700 units, we estimate that by the end of the year that we will reach the 1,500 units targeted," said Razvan Bogdan, marketing manager at EVW Holding. The biggest share of overall sales comes from clients in the construction field and tends to be for heavy haulage lorries with various axle and body configurations, depending on their specific needs. In terms of fleet clients, EVW Holding representatives said Petrom made the largest acquisition, which saw 44 new lorries delivered. Out of the total sales only 3% are generated by second-hand lorries. Regarding expansion plans, EVW announced the opening of new representative offices, with the first one planned for the Republic of Moldova, in cooperation with a local partner.
