Delphi Packard doubles staff

26.05.2006, 00:00 11

Delphi Packard, a producer of wiring for the car industry, doubled its staff last year, after opening its second factory in Romania, in Ineu, Arad County. "We have plans to continue to expand, but we''ve put them on hold. We invited the government to come up with suggestions of subsidy programmes, such as those developed in other countries that are either EU members or about to join the EU (i.e. Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland), given that we have created a large number of jobs, as well as the large investment we have made in Romania," said Marc Steinberg, financial manager of Delphi Packard Romania. The official said the governmental support the company wishes could be exemption from certain taxes for investments or government grants. The company posted a turnover worth 140 million euros (508 million RON) last year, a 22% growth against the previous year. ZF
