Eckerle builds factory in Cluj

26.07.2004, 00:00 9

German Eckerle Group, a supplier of products for the automotive industry, will invest more than two million euros in building a production centre in Cluj-Napoca, through its Eckerle-Gruppe Romania branch. The company has been operating on the Romanian market since June 2003, and has conducted its business in a rented space so far.  It works only under contract for the German market, with Bosch and Siemens as its main clients. The group has seen output grow in the last year so that the rented space is no longer enough for its daily needs. "We will complete works on the new headquarters by June 2005 that will take up 4,000 sqm and ensure an increase in the number of productive staff from 280 to 600 by the end of next year," said Andreas Winnen, Eckerle-Gruppe Romania's chief executive. The production centre in Cluj is not the only business the Germans are planning for the Romanian market, as they also intend to become involved in industrial automation here. ZF
