Fulga doubles Albalact''s sales

07.04.2005, 20:38 14

Dairy producer Albalact from Alba Iulia last year created a turnover of 11 million euros, representing a near doubling of its sales year-on-year after launching a 500,000 euro (rate card) campaign to promote its new brand, Fulga. The company is currently preparing to raise its share capital by 2.5 million euros to modernise and boost its production capacity. "The higher sales were due to investments in the new brand, but also to increasing volumes of other products," said Raul Ciurtin, general manager and majority stockholder in the company. The company had a contract for market repositioning with the consultancy Brandient, which was founded by Aneta Bogdan. Albalact last year generated net profits of almost 650,000 euros, double the amount seen in 2003. "All our products sold well last year, and the last two years have seen a strong recovery for Albalact. In terms of value - turnover and profit - I think we''ve outpaced the independent domestic producers that are not part of multinationals in this domain," explained Ciurtin. Albalact plans to raise its share capital from about 550,000 euros (20.8 billion ROL) to over 3 million euros (117.9 billion ROL). ZF
