Gral Medical shareholders want to invest in a hotel

Robert and Georgeta Şerban, owners of Gral Medical privateclinic network, want to open a 100-bed hotel outside Bucharest intwo years at the latest, for which they are willing to invest 6 or7m euros.

"The project is linked to the healthcare business and I am going tofind funding, but I am open for a partnership," said Robert Şerban,without providing further information about the hotel.
He says the situation in the healthcare sector is not as easy as itmay seem at first sight and that despite the high number ofprojects announced on the market, he has doubts about their beingcompleted.
"(...) Small clinics, imaging centres, labs will close," Şerbansaid.
The situation is the more obvious as starting as early as last yearGral has received 20 offers from small clinics, for their takeover,but Şerban stated he did not have the money needed foracquisitions.
On the other hand, investment funds are also interested in Şerbanfamily's business, and in 2010 they were invited to talks by fiveor six investors. Şerban values the business at 60m euros, but sayshe will not sell if somebody offers him this sum.
