Gregory's to open 3 extra restaurants

15.12.2004, 00:00 11

Greek fast food restaurant chain Gregory's is planning to open three more restaurants in 2005 which will help it reach a turnover of $3.2 million, said Gregory Romania's marketing manager Cristian Mesaros. "We plan to open three more restaurants in 2005. The capital city is our target for the time being, as it still has growth potential, but we've already begun talks for opening franchised restaurants in the other major cities of the country," said Mesaros. The three restaurants will be the result of the company's own investments. Investment per restaurant ranges from 60,000 to 140,000 euros, depending on size and location. The management has set a target for 2005 of $3.2 million in terms of turnover, up 28% on the amount forecast for this year of $2.5 million (around 2 million euros). Gregory's, which is a Greek company, entered the Romanian market at the end of 1999, introducing two brands - Gregory's and Coffeeright (after 2002). The fast food chain currently has eight restaurants in Romania, all of which are located in Bucharest. A ninth restaurant is scheduled for opening in Piata Presei Libere this month. The company posted $1.9 million (1.6 million euros) in turnover for the first nine months of the year, the same as in 2003. ZF
