Holcim ups investment to 270m euros

Swiss Holcim Group, one of the leading construction supplies groups in the world, has some 40 million euro investments scheduled for the Romanian market this year, so that total investments would exceed 270 million euros. More than 30 million euros have already been invested in the first half, according to the company's officials. The funds spent on the Romanian market thus far have been directed to funding acquisitions in the industry mainly, as well as to upgrading the facilities held in Romania and to environment protection activities. Holcim entered the market in 1997 and is now dealing in cement through three factories - Alesd, Turda and Campulung, as well as in concrete and aggregates. ZF
