Holzwerk invests another 3m euros

08.05.2006, 00:00 7

The Austrian company Holzwerk Karl Soukup will conduct an investment worth 3 million euros this year to acquire a new line to process veneer. The company opened a plant processing logs by veneering in the town of Tomnatic, Timis county last year, where, in less than five months, it has invested three million euros. "So far we have done outsourcing work for others. Now that we have become manufacturers, it is only natural that we would make different forecasts in terms of our profit. We don''t have any problems selling our merchandise because the standards we comply with are those required by the market of the European Union. "As a matter of fact, 95% of the finished product goes to export (...)," Adina Mutu, general manager of Holzwerk Karl Soukup told ZF Transilvania. The company entered the Romanian market in 1991 and has since then worked only under contract for other companies. Last year, the company posted turnover worth 8.3 million RON (2.3 million euros), and the company''s manager estimates that the turnover will see an at least four-fold increase this year against last year. The plant in Tomnatic has a production capacity of 650 cubic metres of veneer per hour. This adds up to a monthly finished product of some 635,000 square metres of veneer. ZF
