Kenvelo opens store in Unirea Shopping Center in Brasov

Kenvelo Romania expanded its store network in February with a store located in Unirea Shopping Center in Brasov, according to company information published in the Official Gazette. The opening marks the company's 39th store in Romania, according to data published on the website of the Finance Ministry. Kenvelo holds stores in 20 counties in Romania, with one store already opened in Brasov, in the Macro Mall shopping centre. Bucharest boasts the largest number of stores (12) followed by Constanta (3) Arges, Cluj, Satu Mare, Sibiu and Timis (2 stores each). Kenvelo Romania, which had 548 employees in 2006, is held by Czech-based Frenta S.R.O., managed by Giorgio Margutti, and Belgian-based Kwear Holding, headed by Thomas Dewe and Sergio Bertasi. In 2006, the company posted turnover worth 9.9 million euros, similar to the 2005 figure, while profit reached 2.9 million euros, an almost three-fold increase against 2005, when it reported a 1 million-euro profit. In terms of store numbers, Kenvelo is the second largest international brand present in Romania, after Steilmann, which has almost 60 stores.
