Austria's Kronospan group, one of the biggest players on thewood processing market, has budgeted 290m euros in turnover forthis year, up around 10% against 2010.
The Austrian group is present in Romania in three areas, Braşov,Sebeş and Constanţa, with the biggest company being KronospanSebeş, a manufacturer of wood boards. The 290m-euro estimate refersto Braşov and Sebeş operations.
In the first three months of the year, Kronospan figures weresimilar with last year's. "The domestic market has stalled both interms of constructions industry and of furniture market (since thestart of the year i.e.)," said Oana Bodea, who added that exportshad got to 60% in this period. The main countries where Kronospanexports are Turkey, Hungary and Ukraine.
Kronospan is also one of the biggest exporters in the field ofwood processing, with deliveries abroad topping 200m euros lastyear, up 50% from 2009.
