Marshal Turism travel agency, one of the biggest players on the domestic market intends to build a four-star hotel in the Dorobanti area and is in talks with the exclusivist Hyatt chain in view of affiliation. "It will be a big hotel, with 100-150 rooms, and we contacted Hyatt to affiliate it," Ion Antonescu, the chairman of the agency told ZIARUL FINANCIAR. He added the location was in the Dorobanti area, on a 1,500sqm plot of land, already bought for 2.5 million euros. Hyatt officials did not comment on the information by the time the story was ready for print. A number of travel agency owners have announced plans to enter the hotel market lately. "Work will begin in 2007 and the land has already been bought," Marshal Turism's official explains. The hotel will be completed in about two years. The amount invested comes from the sale of a plot of land of approximately 8,000 square metres, located in the Piata Victoriei area, for which Antonescu collected 10 million euros in the first half of this year. The agency already operates another hotel, close to the five-star Intercontinental. It will open in November and has been awarded four stars. The agency has signed a five-year lease for the location with the state, and is to buy it when this term expires, according to recent statements.
