MJ Maillis Romania, a packaging and packaging equipment producer, in the first half of the year registered turnover worth 4.5 million euros (166 billion ROL), up over 60%, in nominal terms, since the year-ago period. At the same time, H1 profit doubled as compared to the year-ago period, just like Q1 profit had. The packaging producer's profit reached 12.4 billion ROL in the first half of the year, as compared to 6.2 billion ROL in the similar period of 2002. At the beginning of the year, the company had targeted 25% growth of euro-denominated sales, which were supposed to revolve around 10 million euros by the yearend. Maillis products are sold on the local, as well as foreign markets. On the local market, Maillis is one of the largest producers of secondary packaging. The company's exports were destined to Bulgaria, Italy and Germany in the first half. MJ Maillis also distributes other packaging products manufactured by the Greek group bearing the same name. ZF
