Montero budgets 25% higher sales

Montero, a company operating in the distribution and the drug retail sectors, targets 25% higher sales for this year. "Turnover seen in 2005 in the retail and distribution sectors stood at 100 million dollars (about 83 million euros). Our 2006 target is 125 million dollars," stated Radu Tudorache , chief executive of Montero. The company''s drugstore chain currently comprises 70 drugstores, grouped under the Remedio and Omnia brands; Montero acquired the 13-store network owned by Lithuanians at Eurofarmacia last year. The company grouped all its operations in the country together, with all the divisions merging into a single 500-employee company. "This year we want to open the new Chitila logistic centre, covering 130,000 square metres, with the initial investment standing as high as 6 million euros. We also target implementing a modern IT platform, on which transactions can be conducted and which can provide real-time information from all over the country," chief executive of Montero added. The logistic project Montero will be involved in will be run over a five-year time period. The company has pharmaceutical warehouses in Bucharest, Brasov, Braila, Cluj, Constanta, Craiova, Iasi, Oradea, Timisoara and Sibiu. ZF
