Nissan surpasses target in 2007

15.01.2008, 18:10 5

Last year, Nissan sales on the Romanian market increased by almost 4% to 3,066 units, up slightly against the initial 3,000-unit target. The low increase was due to the discontinuation of the Almera model (compact class), in the autumn of 2006, and also the Primera model, (medium class), in the first part of 2007. The rebound of Nissan's sales in the second part of the year was prompted by the launch of the new generation X-Trail SUV, whose sales increased to 249 units, as well as the launch of the Tiida, a compact class model available both as a sedan and as a hatchback. Tiida sold 308 units in the last 4 months of last year. The Quashqai crossover model sold 403 units. The best selling Nissan model on the local market was the Navarra pickup, with 863 units. According to ZF estimates, the total value of Nissan vehicles sold in 2007 stood at 67.5 million euros, considering an average price of 22,000 euros (calculated by the importer), and a volume of 3,066 units.
