Parmalat expects 10m euro sales in 2006

08.06.2004, 00:00 5

Italy's Parmalat Group expects to make 10 million euro sales and EBITDA of two million euros in Romania in 2006, according to the financial targets presented to its creditors, Dow Jones Newswires was quoted as saying by Mediafax. The group expects its EBITDA margin to reach 18.6% in Romania. Parmalat's Romanian subsidiary is not on the list of countries the Italian group decided to withdraw from in order to cut the losses that rendered it insolvent. The Romanian branch logged the best results in the Central and Eastern European region, as previously explained by company officials. Furthermore, the company continued to sign contracts it would not have concluded had it planned to withdraw. Parmalat Romania officials recently announced that the only step they took as a result of insolvency was the temporary closure of the production line bottling 0.25l natural juices in Baia Mare. They added they had not received any offers for the acquisition of the Romanian branch, in spite of rumours of interest from European Drinks and United Romanian Breweries (Tuborg Romania). ZF
