PC factory of Altex group left without bosses

09.07.2009, 18:52 16

Romanian PC manufacturer Complet Electro Serv (CES), which is part of the Altex group, controlled by businessman Dan Ostahie, has been left without its top managers, after its executive manager Gabriel Jitaru and operations manager Mihai Traistaru left the company. Market sources specified that Gabriel Jitaru left the company a few weeks ago, an information confirmed by Mihai Tr`istaru, former operations manager, who left CES three weeks ago. He is currently procurement manager of the largest online retailer on the Romanian market, eMAG. The marketing manager of CES, Iuliana Speriatu, left the company at the end of last year. Jitaru could not be contacted for comment, and Dan Ostahie, owner of the Altex group, declined to offer comment. On the other hand, other market sources said Complet Electro Serv was not manufacturing PCs at present because of the large stock of products it has yet to clear. "The company has very large stocks left, which it is trying to sell. Since the market is low and since there are no other orders, they have no reason to produce," specified a person close to the situation. Ostahie denied the information, saying CES' operations were merely going slower. According to market data, desktop computer sales - the main business line of local manufacturers - are in freefall. Data of IDC research firm point to an over 60% decline of the overall market in the first half of the year.
