The five businesses controlled by Dragoş Petrescu in Bucharest'sOld Centre are operations with a good rate of revenues, but alsowith a significant presence in this year's hottest point ofBucharest, when all the other leisure locations of Bucharest havefallen into disgrace once the Old Centre started developing, makingan area that generates annual revenues of 150m euros.
In 2010, half of the 16m-euro turnover posted by Dragoş Petrescu,one of the best-known restaurant owners in Romania, was generatedby his Old Centre restaurants.
The Old Centre, a windfall for those doing business there, isultimately limited. Hence, the other business Petrescu is countingon, namely beer shops, is to be developed.
"Looking back, there are two ideas that have shaped my currentbusiness: the Old Centre and beer shops," recounts Dragoş Petrescuthe way he has stood out from the rest of tens of restaurant ownerswho stuck to several restaurants and are coping with crisis losses.Unlike them, Petrescu defines 2010 as "sensational".
