PNL is angry with CDR 2000

08.09.2000, 00:00 18

PNL-B (Bratianu National Liberal Party) will be admitted in CDR (Romanian Democrat Convention) 2000 and will be granted eligible positions on the alliance's lists, despite warnings from PNL (Liberal Party) leader Mircea Ionescu-Quintus, who said that this decision would harm the future collaboration between the alliance and his party.

The Christian-Democrats are willing to grant Remes' party nine eligible positions on CDR 2000 lists. One of these positions, located in Maramures, is to be filled in by the Finance minister.

"Our future colleagues will probably receive two or three seats in CDR 2000 Management Board, if our alliance partners also agree to this," PN?CD (Peasants Party) prime-vice-president Ioan Muresan stated after the latest meeting between PNL-B and the Christian Democrats that took place on Wednesday.

The Liberals headed by Remes will be granted 5-6 positions for the Chamber of Deputies and two-three seats for the Senate, Muresan added.
